Look what I found in my closet!! Digging around I found these contemporary silk kebayas from home, I'd forgotten how colorful they are!! Inspired by Times Of Glory's post on the beautiful art of batik-making.

This is what a contemporary kebaya looks like on a person....or aren't they really friends? Rumor has it that they're only friends for the press, while Kelly Osbourne has said that they're totally faking it and yet another rumor is that Posh is only friends with La Lopez to make Katie Holmes jealous!!! Whatever it is, I'm totally fascinated because I loathe Posh and (quite possibly) am fascinated by her at the same time! But she does have good tastes in fashion and ahem, men.

I work in a restaurant. Although I don't wait tables, we in the food industry are required to wear slip-resistant shoes which is a no-brainer because our back of the house tends to sometimes be slippery with spilt water, grease, odds and ends etc. In all my years of working in a restaurant I have never come across a cute (more important, cute + cheap) slip-resistant shoes. Most tend to be chunky and bulky and fucking ugly!! Not anymore!! Shoes For Crews came out with these super cute and comfortable ballet-type shoes..and I have them!!! No more fugly shoes for work!! If I could wear my own shoes to work I totally would, but if I slip and fall in them I would not be able to claim worker's comp!! Not that I want to get hurt (knock on wood!)

....I feel a cold coming....this morning when I woke up, my left nostril was stuffy and almost drippy (yuck) and the stuffiness has moved to the right nostril as well, combined with an itchy throat! It's actually been a pretty decent day weather-wise too...and as I typing this I'm feeling so warm even though the fan is on overhead....grrrrrr...sneezing like crazy too..I am not going to be sick, I am not going to be sick.. (repeat mantra)....
I was doing some mad speed reading today, and finished Jeffrey Archer's A Prisoner Of Birth in 4, 5 hours...I love him, and the book is one of his best yet, but my favorites are still As The Crow Flies and Not A Penny More, Not A Penny Less, which I've probably read several times. As The Crow Flies would make a brilliant mini-series, like Kane & Abel or The Forsythe Saga (not by Archer).
In other news I found some cute suede-ish boots at...Goodwill!!! $6.99!!! Sweet!! It's lined though, so I have to wait for colder weather to wear it, unfortunately. I'm dripping onto the keyboard..so good night!!!
Jay found this English bull terrier outside in the alley..since then he has been guarding our flat quite fiercely....I almost had a heart attack one night when I encountered him by the bathroom.. =) Another animal added to the menagerie.
The shirt looks more orange than red in the photo...canot wait to get rid of this crap camera!
